Justin Kappel

Founder and CEO

Hailing from the great town of Delta, Justin is a life-long Coloradan. In 2015 he stumbled upon the Merchant Services industry. With little knowledge, blissful ignorance, and an unrealistic level of optimism, he hit the streets as most new agents do. After many hard passes and a few doors slammed in his face (yes, literally) It didn’t take him long to realize that there was a serious need in this industry for good ol’ fashioned customer service. If you know Justin on a personal level, you know he tends to obsess over things that he finds interest in, and Merchant Services was that thing. No wonder he landed such a smoke show of a spouse (enter eye-rolling and laughing emoji here).

Justin spent the next three years absorbing every ounce of knowledge he could about the industry in-between door-to-door sales. After knocking on about 30 doors a day for three years, he finally built up enough clients to hopefully, fingers crossed, never have to do that again! Through his continued practice of good ol’ fashioned customer service and taking care of clients' issues when they arise, Justin has built Monument Payments into Western Colorado’s highest-rated Merchant Services provider; an accomplishment that he takes great pride in.

“This industry has given me so much and I couldn’t be more grateful. The level of fulfillment I get from helping provide local businesses with honest payment processing solutions, which is extremely rare to find in this industry, is unmatched. I’ve developed countless relationships with some of the most amazing people, a few that I’m now lucky to call close friends, and I never would’ve had the opportunity had I not been in this industry. I am eternally grateful.”

In his free time, Justin loves to spend time with his wife and 3 children. When it comes to hobbies and interests, he is a jack-of-all-trades kind of enthusiast, and for sure a master of none of them. But he has a great time doing them, and hey, that’s what counts. If he’s not hanging out with his family camping, snowboarding, paddle boarding, or just plain chillin’ in the backyard, you will probably find him flying (or maybe cruising at moderate speed) down a hill on his mountain bike, getting destroyed in Brazilian jiu-jitsu, or lifting weights in his garage. And by lifting weights we mean he’s probably doing some light band work since age is catching up and his body is well on its way to being a worn-out old machine disguised in human skin.
