OUR APPROACH

How Monument Approaches Payment Technology

Payment technology is not one-size-fits-all. A retail store has different requirements than a restaurant. A medical practice operates differently than a contractor in the field.

Monument begins by understanding how your business actually works. We evaluate your current systems, identify inefficiencies, discuss your goals, and recommend solutions that fit your operation - not our agenda.

Not sure where to start? That's exactly what the consultation is for.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Frequently Asked Questions

Questions about how Monument works, what solutions fit your business, and what to expect from the process.

Still have questions?

Monument is happy to walk through your specific situation on a call.

  • Why does Monument offer multiple systems instead of just one?

Because no single platform is the best fit for every business. Monument evaluates your workflow, operational needs, growth plans, and budget before recommending a solution. Our goal is to help you find the right fit, not steer you toward a predetermined product.

  • How does Monument decide which solution is right for my business?

Monument starts with a conversation about how your business operates — your transaction types, volume, workflow, and pain points. From there we recommend the combination of hardware, software, and rate structure that fits. We do not push a product because it is in stock. We recommend what actually works for your situation.

  • Can Monument help if I already have a payment processor?

Yes. Most businesses that contact Monument already have a processor. We evaluate your current setup, identify where you are overpaying or underserved, and recommend whether to stay, switch, or supplement. There is no obligation to change anything.

  • Do I need a POS system, or just a terminal?

It depends on your business. A terminal handles payment acceptance. A POS system adds inventory, reporting, employee management, and customer tracking on top of that. Monument helps you determine which level of technology your operation actually needs — and which is overkill.

  • What is the difference between a gateway and a terminal?

A terminal is a physical device for in-person card acceptance. A gateway is software that processes payments remotely — virtual terminal, online checkout, invoicing, and recurring billing. Many businesses need both. Monument configures the right combination.

  • How long does it take to get set up?

Simple terminal setups can be live in three to five business days. Full POS deployments with hardware, software, and training typically take one to three weeks depending on complexity. Monument handles the application, configuration, and cutover so your business experiences minimal disruption.

  • Does Monument work with businesses outside Colorado?

Monument is based in Colorado and serves Colorado businesses as a priority, but we work with businesses nationally. Our remote setup and support capabilities mean geography is rarely a barrier.
