Alex Sparks

Director of Technology

Alex serves as Director of Technology at Monument Payments, bringing a unique combination of technical expertise and real-world business ownership to the team. He graduated with a degree in Computer Hardware Engineering in 2008, which laid the foundation for his work in systems, integrations, and technology.

Before joining Monument, Alex was a client of Monument Payments for over four years after making the switch from multiple previous POS and payment processing solutions that continued to fall short. That experience gave him a firsthand understanding of the challenges business owners face when systems don’t function as expected. As that relationship developed, it became clear that his skillset and perspective would be a strong addition to the team.

In addition to his technical background, Alex operates his own liquor store in Palisade, Colorado, giving him a practical understanding of day-to-day business operations. At Monument, he focuses on bridging the gap between technology and real-world use, helping design, implement, and support systems that work the way businesses actually need them to.

Outside of work, Alex enjoys staying up to date with technology, refining sales strategy, and spending time working on new ideas, as well as watching pro wrestling.
